COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER

                                    #25-89: Community Support Worker – Timmins – 10 Month Contract

The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking a Community Support Worker to join its team at our

Timmins location. CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across the Districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along James and Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team offering supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and service providers. The team members may also cover service needs in other areas and participate in Coastal Clinics both virtually and physically as required.  

Community Support Workers act as the initial link to CTRC in the intake and case management capacity, by representing the needs of individual(s) requesting particular services and by completing intakes and acting upon the decisions of the Professional Resource Team regarding service delivery and assisting individuals and families to access other community supports and government services.  

                                                                               Wages: $29.28 – $31.63 per hour 

Work Hours: 75 hours every two weeks  

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Social Service Worker Diploma or Social Worker Degree or proof of registration with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers will be considered as meeting the education requirement.  

Must possess a good understanding of social work code of ethics and principals and adherence to Ministry and CTRC Policies and Procedures. Proven ability to work in a diversified environment. Must demonstrate conceptual knowledge and self-management ability. Two years’ experience in a human service field and preferably some experiencewith various software programs.  A valid Class G driver’s license is also required and use of a vehicle. Bilingualism is an asset.
