We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Assistant to support our team and help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Position Summary
The Shop Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily shop operations by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and assisting with basic maintenance tasks. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is interested in gaining experience in a mechanical/service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, lunchroom, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, and remove garbage and recyclables regularly
- Assist with general shop upkeep and tool organization
- Support technicians with basic tasks such as removing wheels, performing oil changes, and other minor mechanical duties (based on experience)
- Perform routine maintenance tasks around the facility
- Receive, organize, and store parts and supplies
- Assist with moving vehicles and equipment, as required
- Ensure all work areas comply with safety regulations and standards
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a shop or mechanical environment
- Basic mechanical knowledge (e.g., oil changes, tire removal)
- Experience using shop tools and equipment
